Printable IRS I-9 Form 2020
November 1, 2019 | by Editor
Every employee regardless of their citizenship status must complete the I-9 Form and submit it to their employers before their employment starts or it must be done within three days of hire.
Unlike the other forms used in the workplace, the I-9 Form has no relation with wage or taxes. Instead, it verifies the identity and the employment authorization of the newly hired employees to work in the United States.
Whether the individual is going to work temporarily or permanently, the I-9 Form must be completed. Since USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service) is responsible for updating the form, revisions occur here and there and most recently, it was updated on July 11, 2017.
The latest updated added a translator part for employees who can’t speak English. In a case like this, a translator must confirm the details of the employee and sign the bottom of the translator section.

USCIS is currently updating the form for future uses throughout 2020. However, the current form in which the revision date was November 7, 2017 can still be used.
Given that you, as an employer, will not submit the form to USCIS but instead, keep it in personnel files, you must keep it organized. The ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) can give you penalty up to $50 for each instance you’re missing the form for each employee.
You can go ahead and download the current version of the form from the USCIS website by clicking the link below.
Note: Please keep in mind that the link above is for the old but still valid I-9 Form. Once the USCIS shares the updated form, we will post it here.
